Parking

Our main parking lot is located directly across the street from the church building on West Prairie Lea Street.  We have reserved some convenient parking spaces for guests.  If you require handicap accessible parking or prefer to drop off your passengers before parking, park directly in front of the church building.

Overflow parking is available at these locations:  behind the church on West Market Street, at the FLBC Connection Center on South Blanco Street, across from the FLBC Connection Center on West Prairie Lea Street.

Getting Inside

You may enter the building through any of the glass exterior doors. Inside the front foyer you will find a Welcome Center and friendly Guest Services members ready to help you with any questions, information or directions.  As you enter the foyer you will be greeted by ushers who will hand you a worship bulletin which includes information about today’s service and upcoming events. If you need help finding a seat, the ushers will assist you. Please be sure to avail yourself of the various information packets available at the Welcome Center and reading rack.

Sunday School

We believe church ought to be a place where no one stands alone.  All of us are wired with certain needs that can be met only through relationships with other people. And that is why connecting you with others is one of the ultimate purposes of our Sunday School.

We have a Sunday School class for you-regardless of marital status or age; regardless of whether you are just beginning to explore Christ's claims or have been a Christ-follower for a long time-we can help you find the right group.  Join us at 9:00 a.m. Sunday morning.

Worship Services

Worship is a vital part of First Lockhart Baptist Church. Equipping and enabling worshippers is the calling on our lives.  All of the facets of this ministry exist to help the church worship and bring honor and glory to the Lord.  Worship offers us — as a church family and as individuals — the opportunity to express to God the high place of significance He has in our lives.  Worship also offers God the opportunity to reveal to us how He desires to work through us to accomplish His work.

Sunday Schedule:  We meet every Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m..  Please arrive around 15 minutes before the service to give us a chance to meet you.  Also, after our morning service our church members mingle around and visit for about 20 minutes and then go to lunch together. We hope you give us an opportunity to know you.

Our weekly attendance runs about 200 -225.  People come dressed comfortably.  You will find worshipers dressed in business-casual, suits and or in jeans.

The service generally lasts about an hour and consists of announcements, choral praise and choruses, special music, the Pastor's message, commitment time, worship in giving and a benediction.  We also offer ASL translation services for the deaf. There is a Deaf Ministries class offered at 6:00 p.m. Sunday for those interested in learning basic sign language.

Children

At FLBC we welcome children in our services as it is a joy to see families worshiping together.  We also offer child care (birth to 3 years of age} provided by our trained staff for all activities.  Children ages 4 to 6 are invited to attend "Children's Church" which convenes during our normal Sunday worship service just before the Pastor's message.

Become a Member

The "Next Step Seminar" is designed to introduce our visitors and attenders to the meaning and importance of church membership. You do not have to join in order to attend the seminar. Our hope is that by attending it, you will learn about our church, about our values, about our life as a church.

The seminar covers the following six topics:

(1) The Statement of Faith: What Christ-followers at FLBC Believe?

(2) Church and Membership: Why Do They Matter?

(3) What is a Healthy Church Member?

(4) History of Christianity and the Future of FLBC.

(5) Your Service in the Body of Christ at FLBC.

(6) The Church Covenant.

Pastor Gary Rodgers will be teaching on these topics.

If you are ever in the Lockhart area or have recently moved to Lockhart, we invite you to gather with us during our Lord’s day services. One of the unique characteristics of First Lockhart Baptist Church  is the people which God has brought together by His grace and for His glory. Though united by God’s Spirit into one body through faith in the one lord, Jesus Christ, you will find that regardless of your cultural or ethnic background, God has assembled a beautifully diverse gathering of believers which reflects the cultural and ethnic diversity of Lockhart, the United States and the world. We also believe that this ethnically diverse gathering of believers united in Christ greatly glorifies God and points us to that day when we will all be gathered around the throne of God and of the Lamb.

We have a firm foundation: our Lord Jesus Christ and His Word.

We have a singular focus: to see all peoples become whole-hearted followers of Jesus Christ . . . to the glory of God.

We have a diverse family that is united by a common devotion to our Lord Jesus Christ, His Word and His ways.

Thank you for visiting us online. If we can be of any service to you, please feel free to contact any member of our ministry team via e-mail or by calling our church office at 512-398-5297.
