Discipleship
Do you know what your spiritual gift is? This is important because your spiritual gift helps you understand how God has designed you to minister. If you would like to use an assessment survey, you can make use of this one, provided by Elmer Towns:
RightNow Media is an online resource for churches to equip, train and inspire people to live out their faith in Jesus at home, at work and around the world. It is only available to First Lockhart Baptist Church members.
Church members who already have access to RightNow Media can login here.
Church members who do not have access can contact the church office to get access to this wonderful resource.

A Place to Serve
We uphold the Biblical teaching that the spiritual leaders of the church are called to equip the saints for the work of service (Ephesians 4:12). Our ministries include opportunities to serve inside and outside the congregation. Our ministries are an extension of the entire congregation, and therefore, we encourage visitors who want to get involved in serving to first consider becoming a part of our community. Our unity and love for one another, expressed through the commitment of the church covenant and the actual life of the congregation, is a powerful testimony of the Gospel in our lives. At the foundation of our service and ministries stands the Gospel.

Students and Children
Here at FLBC it is the vision of the student ministry to see the gospel of Jesus Christ transform everything -- ourselves, our families, our church, Lockhart and the world.
Mark 10:14 states “…Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these.”
FLBC provides a variety of activities to help lead the children to Christ and disciple them once they place their trust in Christ.
Preschool is for ages birth through Kindergarten. We are dedicated to the love and growth of your children through Jesus Christ, our Lord. All children within our Ministry begin learning and seeing how Jesus loves them unconditionally.
Stephen Ministry
This ministry equips lay people to provide confidential, one-to-one Christian care to individuals in our congregation and community who are experiencing difficulties in their lives. Contact the church office for more information.
Outreach and Missions
We take seriously the last command Jesus gave in Matthew 28:18-20
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
We seek to carry out this command locally and internationally in the following ways:

Sunday School
We believe church ought to be a place where no one stands alone. All of us are wired with certain needs that can be met only through relationships with other people. And that is why connecting you with others is one of the ultimate purposes of our Sunday School. In addition, our groups provide settings for spiritual growth and development.
Through the Bible study, discussion and encouragement that our groups provide, you will find the friends and tools to stay on course with Christ.
We have a Sunday School class for you-regardless of marital status or age; regardless of whether you are just beginning to explore Christ's claims or have been a Christ-follower for a long time-we can help you find the right group.
Join us at 9:00 a.m. Sunday morning.
Music
Music touches people as they approach God and begin to worship. Our music ministry offers opportunities for all age groups to worship and grow in spirit through the expression of music. From the SonShine Singers choir for children age 4 through kindergarten, through the Adult Choir, there is an opportunity for everyone to be involved in the ministry.
The SonShine Singers choir, for children age 4 through kindgergarten, meets each Wednesday from 5:45 - 6:30 p.m. This choir teaches children to sing, play instruments and move to the beat of the music. The Good News choir, for children grades 1-6, meets each Wednesday from 5:45 - 6:30 p.m.
The Adult Choir is an exciting place to serve. The choir meets each Wednesday from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. The choir is open to anyone over the age of 18. Be prepared to have a good time working hard together on the many different styles of music we are preparing for worship and other special occasions such as Easter and Christmas.
